Proudly Made in the USA
The Made in USA Brand certification mark is a non-mandatory brand enhancer and identifier of goods made or grown in the United States. Companies must meet a certain set of standards put in place by the FTC and apply for the certification. Read the article below to learn what it means to Windward to be Made in the United States.
Outdoor Furniture Manufactured in the USA
Casual Living, August 2011
Windward Design Group has come a long way from its beginnings as a furniture re-strapping business in founder David Peace’s Florida backyard. Today, the company has grown to manufacture more than 20 collections of stylish, high-quality patio furniture, as well as replacement cushions, in its 65,000-square-foot facility in Sarasota – and in the process, it has built a stellar reputation in the industry for hard work, passion, and integrity.
“We use only the highest-quality materials in our furniture and craft each piece with the utmost attention to detail,” says Carrie Morales, vice president. “Our president, David Peace, is as passionate today about making furniture as he was when he began the business, and is in the office and factory every day checking on products, customers, and the general well-being of his employees and their families. That attitude and example resonates throughout the company, and extends not only to the quality of our products, but to the quality of our relationships with our customers.”
With the goal of helping consumers get the most out of their outdoor living area, Windward Design Group offers a broad line of distinctive casual furnishings, all at a competitive price. Its furniture spans styles from cushion to sling to strap, including collections encompassing deep seating, cushion dining, and padded sling. The company’s extensive selection of outdoor fabrics, beautiful and durable frame finishes, and unique embellishment options make it easy to customize products to any individual style.
Throughout the line, Windward maintains an unwavering focus on quality. All its furniture is manufactured with commercial-grade extruded aluminum, and many of its extrusions are proprietary, featuring internal reinforcing ribs to provide additional strength. Frames are sandblasted to create an ideal bonding surface, then powder-coated and oven-baked to ensure that the finish will not peel or chip. All sling fabric is double stitched for exceptional durability, and deep seating and wicker replacement cushions are filled with the company’s exclusive ComfortFLEX material, which provides a comfortable seat that won’t lose its loft. In addition, Windward’s cushions surpass the highest quality and flammability standards issued for the furniture industry.
Windward’s commitment to quality and confidence in the lasting quality of its products is underscored by its 15-year residential warranty. What’s more, the company strives to make each customer interaction easy and pleasant – an attitude that is illustrated by its new campaign, launched this year under the banner “Casual Furniture Made Simple. The Way It Should Be.”
“It’s not just a marketing campaign to us, it’s our business culture,” Morales states. “But perhaps most important to us is the fact that our furniture is truly manufactured in the USA, not just assembled in the USA. Virtually all the raw materials we use come from quality domestic sources, including the aluminum, vinyl, fabrics, fiber, frame finishes, hardware, and more. So our commitment to the value of ‘American-made’ extends to every aspect and component of our furniture.”
